Product review: Soul Sling Yoga Bag

Recently, I ordered the Soul Sling Yoga Bag. 

I was in search of a bag that could fit everything in ONE single (hopefully, fancy) bag which didn't look like I was ready to elope from my home. Post COVID since, most yoga studios/teachers ask us to bring our own props: mat, blocks, a bedsheet, yoga ropes, and straps. Of course, added to that, I never leave home without my water bottle and phone.

I found that the Soul Sling Yoga Bag fits it all!  The first thing I noticed is that it is 100% cotton. It is also handmade by women with a lot of care to make it durable. Being environmentally conscious , cotton fabric is always my first preference. 

 I did a bit of research about how the bag came to be and my conversation with the founder of Soul Slings, Chinmayie Bhat, revealed that she designed this bag  to solve her bag woes as a yoga practitioner. Having to carry many things in different bags, she felt frustrated with the balancing act she had to do to get to a class, remembering to keep all her things intact. This pushed her to design this all-in-one Yoga Bag. 

The four well-crafted, deep pouches can not only hold everything that one needs for a yoga class but also helps you to organise them in a way that is easy to access. The convenience of having everything together where you need it is a relief. Although it almost feels like we are off on a small hike after everything is packed, because of the sheer bulk of the accessories, it serves its purpose. It has adjustable and padded shoulder straps which distributes weight and cushions your shoulders helping you to carry the bag like a backpack. Also, it comes in many colours to jazz up your yoga practice. If you like it plain it also has the classic solid black. When it comes to pricing, it is on the higher end. The material feels premium, and this, to me helped me contextualise the price.

This bag has it all just like asanas which encompasses many aspects of fitness training!!
